We have a feeder tournament including some non-feeder schools run by the PE department with small sided football, touch rugby, basketball and Hockey.
During that tournament we scout the competitors and identify talent. This tournament would have a trophy for the overall winner given points in each event. We could also give out MVP t-shirts etc. Those identified would then be invited to the elite sports day.
The elite sports day would entitle:
-Morning intro describing what elite sport is using a lot of exciting you tube clips.
-A session on Goal Setting.
-A session where we put them through a fun fitness circuit.
-A session where we fitness test them.
- Alonzo or Jacob Walsh talks to them in his Hawks Gear about skill and practice. Have some skill challenges.
-Mike Bishop sends over someone from Hawks Bay Rugby to speak very basically about nutrition.
We try and get them a bag of small items. They leave with an application to apply for our sports scholarship.
Total draft stage with lots of work to do but would like feedback goods/bads etc.
